                       Why does Multicom-4 Validate?

     We validate accounts for several reasons:


 1)  As Multicom-4, although educational in nature, is an adult-oriented
     service.  We must ensure that all of our members are of the legal age
     of 21 due to the fact that many discussions on Multicom-4 are of a
     frank and adult nature.

 2)  There are several local, state, and federal laws that are trying to
     "clean-up" the online world, making everything on the internet and in
     cyberspace favorable for children (the lowest common denominator).
     (Thank you, Senator Exon!)  We at Multicom-4 believe in, and subscribe
     to the first amendment of the constitution of the United States of
     America, and believe in free speech is a right, not a privilege in the
     United States of America (provided that there is no harm and/or
     harassment involved!) We believe that consenting adults have the right
     to discuss what they want to, to upload/download graphic images
     (within legality) and information for their personal use, for
     educational and recreational purposes.  In order to provide these
     ADULT services, we NEED to validate new members to verify that they
     are of the LEGAL AGE OF 21 (the highest age of consent worldwide).

 3)  In order to PROTECT our members and our system, we need to know the
     real name, street address, telephone number and other pertinent
     information about who is using our service.  If we didn't validate new
     members, we would not have any legal recourse if someone were to post
     "illegal" information or illegally copied files.  Personal account
     information is considered HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL (see the system policies
     for additional information about our confidentiality).

 4)  Validation ensures that people do not have more than one account at
     any one time.  As Multicom-4 allows free time for each and every one
     of it's validated members, only one account is allowed per person.  If
     someone were to have two, they would have an unfair advantage over the
     other honest members.  In addition, in order for Multicom-4 to remain
     a professional adult system, it is vitally important that people are
     not allowed to deceive others and play "head games" as some people do
     on other adult BBS systems that don't enforce the "one account per
     person" rule.  BBS sysops that allow people to hold more than one
     account are allowing a handful of unscrupulous persons to fool their
     own members, as these depraved people hold several accounts, establish
     several online bios and personalities for one reason only: to fool
     other members.
