Chaz' Dr. Who - 2012/2013 (Season 7) - Episode Guide & Downloads

Asylum of the Daleks The Doctor is lured to the ruins of Skaro, original homeworld of the Daleks, by a humanoid Dalek "puppet", Darla, who teleports him to the Parliament of the Daleks. There he is reunited with Amy and Rory, who have been similarly kidnapped from present-day Earth, just after Rory has delivered Amy their divorce papers. The Dalek Prime Minister explains that the Daleks have a planet known as the Asylum, where they keep battle-scarred Daleks that have gone insane. The Daleks are unwilling to kill these insane Daleks, as destroying such pure hatred would contravene their sense of "beauty", much to the Doctor's revulsion. The Parliament has received a transmission of the Habanera Aria from the heart of the asylum. Read More! (Caution spoilers!)

Dinosaurs on a Spaceship While in 1334 BC Egypt with Queen Nefertiti, the Doctor receives a call from the "Indian Space Agency" in 2367 AD about a vast spaceship which will crash into Earth in six hours. The ISA plans to destroy it with missiles unless the Doctor stops it first. Taking Nefertiti with him, he picks up Edwardian explorer John Riddell from the African plains in 1902 AD, and his companions Amy and Rory ten months after he last saw them in "Asylum of the Daleks", inadvertently taking Rory's father Brian on the TARDIS as well. A Town Called Mercy The Doctor, Amy, and Rory, while en route to the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico via the TARDIS, instead arrive at the small American Frontier town of Mercy. The Doctor is curious as to a ring of stone and wood that surround the town's border, and the availability of electricity to the town about ten years too early. They learn from the town's marshall, Isaac, that they have been kept within town for the last three weeks by "The Gunslinger", who uses alien weaponry to kill anyone trying to leave town and blocks the town from receiving any supplies. The Gunslinger has demanded the town turn over "the doctor", which the Doctor deduces is not himself but an alien hiding in the marshall's jail. The alien introduces himself as Kahler-Jex, who had crashed on Earth about ten years earlier, and was rescued from his craft by the town; in return, Jex has helped the town as their physician including ending a deadly cholera outbreak and providing the town with primitive electricity. However, the town's food supplies are nearly empty, and while the situation has become more dire, the marshall is reluctant to hand over Jex. Read More! (Caution spoilers!)

One day billions of small black cubes appear around the globe, but they appear to be inert and invulnerable. The Doctor arrives to help, having been alerted by news stories. UNIT storms the Ponds' house soon after in response to the Doctor's arrival; the UNIT force is led by scientific adviser Kate Stewart, the daughter of the Doctor's friend and former UNIT commander, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart. Kate explains that they have no idea of the purpose of the cubes and hope the Doctor can help. After several days of watching the cubes without anything out of the ordinary occurring, the Doctor decides there is no problem and puts Rory's father Brian in charge of watching the cubes as he returns and departs in the TARDIS. The Bells of Saint John In the present day, an unnamed man tells of a dangerous Wi-Fi connection that he claims is stealing human minds, killing them physically but preserving their consciousness. At the end of the monologue, he reveals that he, too, has had his mind stolen and preserved.

In 1207 Cumbria, a group of Monks escort an elder into a deep cavern, where they discuss the condition of a "mad" monk, who had kept drawings of Clara with him. The monk is revealed to be the Doctor, and he is told that "the bells of Saint John" are ringing. The bells are revealed to be the TARDIS' external phone, whom the Doctor answers. He finds that the caller is Clara, who is currently working as a governess for a dad and his two children; their mum had died years ago. Realising that he has found Clara once again, the Doctor travels from 1207 to Clara's house via tracing the call, and changes into a new look halfway through. At Clara's house, he asks about her and whether she "remembers" him (The Snowmen), and after a while, a little girl appears after the Doctor disappears. She tells Clara that she is a friend of 'Angie's, but is revealed to be a Spoonhead. Read More! (Caution spoilers!)

The Rings of Akhaten Following the events of "The Bells of Saint John", the Doctor decides to learn more about his new companion Clara and travels into her past to observe her. He finds her parents met by a chance encounter caused by a gust of wind blowing a leaf into her father's face and then later discovers that her mother died while Clara was a teenager. The Doctor takes the TARDIS back to the present and collects Clara as previously arranged. He asks her where she would like to go and she requests to be shown "something awesome".

The Doctor takes Clara to the Rings of Akhaten. There they observe a series of planetoids orbiting a planet, with a shining pyramid on one of them. The Doctor takes Clara to a giant alien marketplace and introduces her to several aliens, including a merchant named Dor'een who attempts to rent them a space bike. The Doctor explains that the market doesn't use hard currency but rather trades in items of sentimental value. Clara becomes separated from the Doctor and encounters a little girl who appears to be running and hiding. Clara catches up to her and she explains that her name is Merry Gejelh, and that she is the Queen of Years. Merry tells Clara that she is hiding because she is supposed to sing a song at a ceremony and she is afraid to get it wrong. Clara reassures her and Merry heads to the ceremony. Read More! Cold War The episode opens on a Soviet submarine sailing near the North Pole in 1983 during the Cold War. A nuclear weapons launch drill they are running is interrupted by Professor Grisenko. In the submarine's cargo hold a sailor prematurely begins to defrost a block of ice that Grisenko believes contains a frozen mammoth and is attacked by what's inside.

The submarine begins sinking as the creature in the ice escapes and runs amok. The TARDIS materialises inside the submarine; Clara and the Doctor tumble out, believing that they are in Las Vegas. Although restrained, the Doctor convinces Captain Zhukov to maneuver the submarine to the side, landing it safely and preventing it from imploding. During this the TARDIS inexplicably dematerialises. The Doctor tells the captain and his crew that he and Clara are time travelers. They then encounter the escaped Ice Warrior, Grand Marshall Skaldak. The Doctor convinces them that they must be peaceful, but the ship's executive officer Stepashin shocks Skaldak with a cattle prod knocking him out cold, suspecting that he is not an alien but part of a Western plot. The chained Skaldak calls for his brothers to find him. Read More! (Caution spoilers!)

Hide In 1974, Professor Alec Palmer and his assistant Emma Grayling collect photographic evidence of a ghost, known as the Witch of the Well, in the Caliburn mansion; Alec uses Emma's strong psychic powers to create an emotional connection that appears to summon the ghost. They are surprised by the arrival of the Doctor and Clara, claiming to be from military intelligence. The Doctor shows interest in the investigation after Clara points out that the ghost appears in the same position within each photograph. As they investigate, Clara finds that Emma has feelings for Alec and attempts to assure her that they are reciprocated; at the same time, Emma warns Clara about sensing "a sliver of ice" within the Doctor's heart.

The Doctor and Clara find a location in the mansion which is noticeably colder than the rest of the house, and the group feels as if they are being watched. Suddenly, the house grows cold, and Clara feels something holding her hand; the two race back to where Alec and Emma are waiting to see Alec's equipment activating on its own accord. A thin black disc materializes in front of them, and Emma senses something crying "help me" through her psychic abilities before the disc vanishes and the house returns to normal. Read More! Clara nags at the Doctor to fix it, but he claims there is no "big friendly button" that can simply fix everything. Clara spots a strange egg-like device roll across the floor and tries to grab it but burns her hand. The ship jolts and the two are thrown into darkness. Read More! (Caution spoilers!)

The Crimson Horror In 1893, Silurian Madame Vastra, her human wife Jenny, and their Sontaran butler Strax investigate "The Crimson Horror", a mysterious cause of death in which victims are found with red skin. Superstition states that the retina retains the image last seen by the person (an "optogram"), and they are shocked to find that the latest victim had seen the Doctor. They travel to Yorkshire, where Jenny infiltrates Sweetville, a community led by Mrs Gillyflower and the rarely seen Mr Sweet. Mrs Gillyflower preaches about the coming apocalypse to encourage people to come, using her blind daughter Ada being beaten by her late husband as an example of their doomed society.

Jenny discovers the Doctor, who is chained up and exhibits red skin and a stiff stature. The Doctor enters a chamber to reverse the process, and explains to Jenny that he and Clara had arrived and discovered the mystery of "The Crimson Horror". They had joined Sweetville to investigate, but learned that they were to be preserved to survive the apocalypse. The process did not work on the Doctor because he was not human, and was saved from being destroyed by Ada, who affectionately calls him "my monster". The Doctor finds Clara and reverses the process on her. Meanwhile, Vastra recognises that Sweetville is using the venom of a prehistoric red leech. The Doctor and Clara confront Mrs Gillyflower, who reveals that she plans to launch a rocket to spread the poison all over the skies. "Mr Sweet" is also revealed to be a red leech that has formed a symbiotic relationship with Mrs Gillyflower. The Doctor berates Mrs Gillyflower for experimenting on Ada to get the preservation formula right. Ada, overhearing this, angrily advances toward her mother to give Clara time to smash the controls. However, Mrs Gillyflower holds a gun to Ada's head and heads into the rocket silo, which has been disguised as a chimney, to reach the secondary control. Read More! (Caution spoilers!)

Nightmare in Silver The Doctor takes Clara, and her nanny responsibilities, Angie and Artie, to Hedgewick planet, an extraterrestrial theme park. With his psychic paper and a gold pass like Willy Wonka, the Doctor convinces Captain Alice Ferring that he is an ambassador looking for their missing Emperor, and allowed to stay.

Webley, hiding from the troops, shows the visitors his "Webley's World of Wonders", a collection of galaxy oddities in his crashed spaceship. Deactivated Cybermen are harmless museum pieces, because Cybermen were defeated and exterminated a thousand years ago. He promises a silver "Imperial penny" for defeating one converted into a chess-playing machine, but they discover the operator is really Porridge, a chess champion with dwarfism. Read More! The Name of the Doctor In the beginning of the episode, Clara is seen falling through time and space, and appearing near several of the past Doctors. She claims that she has been running throughout history in order to save him, and that he rarely hears her.

Madame Vastra and Jenny learn of a prophecy told by an insane man regarding the Doctor; in particular, he claims to have a "secret" about the Doctor. They hold a "conference call" to bring themselves, Strax, River Song, and Clara Oswald across time and space into a dream realm, using soporific drugs, where they explain the prophecy relating to the planet Trenzalore ("The Wedding of River Song"). While in the call, Vastra, Jenny, and Strax are attacked by Whisper Men, strange faceless creatures. Thinking quickly, River forces Strax, Vastra and Clara to wake up. She wakes up back in contemporary London to find the Doctor looking for her. Read More! (Caution spoilers!)

The Time of the Doctor The Doctor's TARDIS is among thousands of ships orbiting an unknown planet. A message, that no-one can translate, is being broadcast from the planet across time and space. With the assistance of a modified Cyberman head named "Handles," which he is using as a personal assistant, the Doctor visits two of these ships, being attacked by Daleks and then Cybermen. After picking up Clara from her home and briefly meeting her family, they return to the planet's orbit where Handles identifies the planet as Gallifrey. The Doctor refutes this, knowing the planet can't be Gallifrey, and they are invited on board the first ship to arrive at the scene, which belongs to the Church of the Papal Mainframe, a space church headed by Mother Superious Tasha Lem, an old acquaintance of the Doctor's. It is she who has put up the force field that stops the other ships reaching the planet, but allowed the Doctor and Clara to be sent down through the force field onto the planet, where they find a town called Christmas.
